I followed the instructions and set both bus events to move right(repeat), direction fix and highest frequency. So I followed example but I encountered a problem where the map doesn't scroll on it's own, and the bus doesn't move unless I click somewhere along the map. That seems a bit complicated and I decided to use the default bus instead. Unless you're REALLY bookin' it, the mountains wouldn't move for the distance covered in a short cutscene. The ground will move while the mountains stay stationary, giving a good sense of movement.

If you have the sprite set up, it'll protrude above the ground, giving the appearance of looking at it from the side. Using this, you'll have a setup like the picture below, obviously using your bus instead of the monster. To have the camera follow it, you could either set the camera to follow the event using a plugin, or have the player set to transparent, and set his movement route to match the bus. Set the event to parallel, and ensure horizontal looping is enabled in your map properties. Set it's movement route to move right and repeat. Just make your map, in the properties, make a parallax background (Set it to mountains since you want mountains), then make an event that has an image of the vehicle you want. Well, from the sounds of it, you want a side-view movie of the bus.
